What is an Artbook? What’s inside? Where can I buy it? And which are the Disney ones collectible? We’ll answer all your questions or simple curiosities here with this new rubric!
First of all, we would like to thank ambrams&chronicle books which gave us the opportunity to receive those books for free in order we can tell you about it in depth. We would also like to write these articles both in Italian and in English, as far as they are written (of course) in the original language and because at the moment they have never been translated in Italy.
What is an Artbook and what can you find inside it?
It’s simple: it’s a book, a volume, in which there are collected the drawings, sketches, story boards of the artists who worked on the movie. It’s really interesting because in addition there is the explanation of all the smaller steps: from the inspiration, to the study of the characters; the settings, the clothes, the choices of direction or the change of the story or of some details. It’s a real collection that gives us the chance to admire the ideas and the evolution about the construction of a Disney movie’s long process.
